The Irish Times have launched their own Fantasy Premier League for the coming 2012/2013 season.

The latest offering to the Fantasy Premier League market comes to us from The Irish Times, The Irish Times are no strangers to the Fantasy world as we have seen with their Fantasy Golf and Fantasy 6 Nations games and they have now brought their expertise to the Fantasy Premier League.

Register your team now

Once you’ve registered you’ll be taken to the Team Selection page, where you’ll be able to pick the players that will form your all-star team. Search by name or sort by club, position and price and then click on a player to add them to your line up.

You’ve got £55m to spend on your 11-man team and can select up to two players from a club. Players are categorised as goalkeepers, full-backs, centre-backs, midfielders, and strikers and there are four formations available.

The points scoring system has it’s own unique twist and really forces you to think about every aspect of your team closely and they have also made it the most interactive fantasy premier league game on the market and we will be covering this very shortly.

Transfer Policy

The transfer policy in the game allows you to make unlimited transfer right up until the start of the first game of the season on the 18th August.

After this you can make three free transfers within a fixture week, however you can not make extra optional transfers, so once you have made your three transfers you are done until the following fixture week.

Transfer Windows

The Irish Times have also given us the opportunity to make unlimited transfers to our teams during two transfer windows which will be available after the close of the August and January transfer windows.

Prizes

The manager who tops the Overall Leaderboard at season’s end will win a fantastic €3,000 prize.

From August to May, The Irish Times will give €500 prizes to the top manager in the Monthly Leaderboard. So you can have a shocker in November, but still win in December!

Top weekly score, each week The Irish Times will record all weekly scores over the course of the season and there is €550 to be won by the manager who finishes top of the Game Week Leaderboard.

Knock Out Cup

The Irish Times will also be running a Knock Out Cup starting in August with the standard highest score progressing to the next round, so be sure to enter that!
