With the deadline all but hours away fantasy managers will undoubtedly scratching their heads as they try and make sense of this week’s fixture and form.
Having already brought you news on Robin Van Persie, it’s time to take a look at all the other team news ahead of gameweek 28
Roberto Mancini says Gareth Barry should be fit to play Aston Villa on Monday but ‘it’s difficult’ for Vincent Kompany to return meaning we are likely to see Nastasic continue at the back for the champions this weekend.
There was good and bad news from Tottenham’s manager Andrea Villias-Boas at Spurs Lodge as he informed us that Jermain Defoe is back training and in contention for the north London derby, which will come as some relief given that Clint Dempsey has been ruled out with a calf strain along with Younes Kaboul, Sandro and Tom Huddlestone who all remain sidelined.
Liverpool boss Brendan Rogers admitted he has concerns over Daniel Sturridge’s fitness ahead of his sides trip to Wigan, Rogers told the clubs website:
“Daniel has had a little knock but we’ll assess that in the next day and see how he is for the weekend.
Everton boss David Moyes remains hopeful that Maroune Fellaini and Victor Anichebe will be ok to face Reading this weekend stating:
“Marouane has a chance to be fit. But I have a doubt about Tim after he suffered a knock in midweek so I will assess that one.”
“Victor Anichebe has been carrying a knock as well so we are not quite sure how he is so I will have to make a decision about him.”
Elsewhere Harry Redknapp has ruled Bobby Zamora out of the R’s clash with an ankle injury, which could signal the return of Loic Remy to the starting line up. Pressure continues to mount on Villa boss Paul Lambert and with Darren Bent struggling with a foot injury ahead of Man City game it’s not getting any easier but with news that Chris Herd is back and Ron Vlaar trained today it may not be looking up.
As far as West Ham are concerned Noble remains a doubt while big Sam admits that we are unlikely to see Kevin Nolan this weekend, but Guy Demel has recovered from a knock.
There could be further worry for West Brom in the striker department with news that Shane Long didn’t train during the week and may be at risk of missing out on the Baggies trip to Chelsea, of course with strike partner Romelu Lukaku unavailable to play against his parent club, Baggies boss Steve Clark could be forced to play the out of favour Peter Odemwingieup front against the Blues.
Fulham boss Martin Jol has confirmed that Kieran Richardsonhas recovered from injury in time to be considered for Fulham’s game with Sunderland.
