Tinker time is nearly over and if you’re like most you will be swapping and chopping right up until the deadline window slams shut. With the options getting harder by the day, we have decided to take a look at some of the options available to lead the line for your fantasy premier league team in gameweek 1.Of course there is one notable absence Robin van Persie, reports suggest he will feature on Monday night, but there are doubts as to whether he will start.
But as usual we have done our analysis and come up with some early contenders for your gameweek one squad.
Sergio Aguero (Man City) £11.5 Million Fixture: Southampton (Home)
The man that scored the Championship winning goal has a good tie to start off with as City welcome this year’s new boys Southampton to the Etihad. He scored 23 with 10 assists last term plus having Tevez back alongside him and a more attacking approach from Mancini due to take affect this campaign I can see more points coming in for the Argentine striker. Currently with an ownership rate of 32.6% if Sergio finds his scoring boots early and you don’t have him in you will be playing catch up early on. He did miss a few good chances against Chelsea in the Community Shield but that won’t affect his form at home in their first game of their title defence. It won’t be an easy day facing a team with everything to prove but his class should be more than enough to bag a goal or two against the Saints to start off this season with a win and more importantly points.
Fernando Torres (Chelsea) £10.0 Million Fixtures: Wigan (Away)
The Chelsea striker hits the ground running this season in a double gameweek and has a more favourable value compared to last season. This price drop though is reflected in the fact he had a disappointing season last time with only 6 goals and 7 assists. Torres currently has an ownership rate of 27% but this will be down to the double game week he starts off with. He did however grab a decent goal in Sundays Community Shield loss against City, A goal which in my opinion he would of missed last year. With 2 good sides to start off against I can see at least a goal coming from the opening fixtures and the points to boost your starting balance. El Niño has the talent and could be in for a renaissance this season.
Mladen Petric (Fulham) £6.0 Million Fixtures: Norwich (Home)
The former Hamburg striker is joining his old coach at Craven Cottage this season and at 6 million could be handy striker to fill that all important third slot in your team. He has an impressive record for the German side scoring 38 goals in 98 appearances and has been banging them in for fun pre season scoring 5 goals. Petric is flying under the radar of most and has an ownership rate of just 1.2%, he could be the little differential to kick off your season. The Cottagers also start off at home against Norwich which is just as well as they don’t travel well at all. Add to that the Canneries shaky defence and a new manager at the helm he could just surprise a few people on his league debut with a goal or an assist to boot.
So there you have our early tips for Forward tips ahead of the first gameweek of the season, we will be back on Friday with our
full and final tips so be sure to check back with us then.

Please suggest my team is:
Vorm
Hangeland Lescott Gorkss
Ramires Silva Allen Hazard
Torres RVP Pogrebnyak
Subs: Jaask Shawcross Dyer Barnett
Cheers!
I have Torres at the moment, along with Tevez and Graham. I've considered Petric (and Lambert) but Graham's been in equally good form pre-season and has an easier run of fixtures.
Aguero's tempting, but the 2.5 saved in having Tevez has allowed me an extra big hitter in midfield.
Good luck everyone!
Any weaknesses here?
GK; Cech, Vorm
Def: Simpson, Clichy, Williams, Mariappa, Vlaar
Mid: Hazard, Snodgrass, Holman, Kagawa, Pienaar
Strikers; Torres, Aguero, Pogrebynak
Thanks in advance!
is kagawa a def starter??
he's ur second most expensive midfielder.. he needs to come good for u especially when he's facing competition from rooney and RVP to score goals now..
