Fantasy Premier League: Gameweek 21 Tips

by Phil McGrath on January 9, 2015

The fantasy premier league swings back into action after a brief hiatus for the third round of the F.A Cup and with a number of new managers in place and quite a number of players departing for the African Cup of Nations, it is shaping up nicely for gameweek 21.

In terms of team news we will start at the Emirates where Arsene Wenger has been handed a boost with Özil, Ramsey and Flamini all returning to training and in contention for the game against Stoke, although Danny Welbeck has once again been ruled out through injury and the Gunners boss has conceded that he has yet to make up his mind about whether or not to play Wojciech Szczesny after he was reported found smoking in the showers after the Gunners loss to Southampton on New Years Day.

Elsewhere Leighton Baines is in contention to return to the Everton starting line up having missed out in midweek with a knock, although his defensive partner Sylvain Distin has been ruled out for the clash with City. On the City side of things Sergio Aguero could be named on the bench having recovered quicker than expected from a knee injury, although it is not thought that he will be called upon unless absolutely necessary.

Tim Krul looks set to return for Newcastle, while his fellow Dutchman Ron Vlaar has been ruled out by Villa for up to six weeks with a knee injury. There is some good news for Paul Lambert however, with Nathan Baker, Kieran Richardson and Gabby Agbonlahor all expected to return in time for the trip to Leicester.

So with all that in mind not to mention those players missing due to international commitments it is time for us to nail down some fantasy prospects for the weekends action.
