Brendan Rogers has made his first purchase as Liverpool manager bringing in Fabio Borini for £8 million pounds.
The 21-year-old Italian will be no stranger to Rogers or English football as he played for Rogers on a loan spell at Swansea during the 2010/11 season. Borini played 9 times during Swansea’s promotion campaign and contributed an impressive 6 goals to the Swans ascent into the Premier League.
It is also worth noting that Borini won the second Penalty for Swansea to help put them 4-2 up in the playoff final against Reading at Wembley in 2011.
Last season Liverpool made a lot of chances but their forwards frustrated Liverpool and fantasy premier league managers alike. Already Kuyt has been offloaded to Fenerbahce with rumours that Bellamy and Carroll are also about to follow suit. If Carroll does go on loan and Bellamy does leave for either Cardiff or QPR it makes Borini an attractive fantasy option.
With Brendan Rogers at the helm you can be sure that the Liverpool forwards will get service and it is expected that Borini will be a cheaper alternative to Luis Suarez.

If suarez is available for the first game, i'd definitely pick this guy in my team.
Re Hubert,
When you manager clearly states that you are not in his plans, then it's a no brainer! You are history.
Borini shoud represent excellent value, as like any newcomer from abroad to FF, (except Vertongen) is always valued well below that of their team mates.
He should do very well alongside Suarez, and shouldn't tprove to be oo much of a gamble !
Interesting news, but we'll have to wait and see if Carroll and Bellamy go, and how well Borini is priced… I think Suarez has already been priced at 9.5 so unless Borini comes in at well under that Suarez might be the better option?
